Gutters Tallahassee

Why are gutters important?

Gutters play a crucial role in managing rainwater and protecting your home. Here are some reasons why gutters are important:

1. **Preventing Water Damage:** Gutters channel rainwater away from the foundation of your home. This helps prevent water from pooling around the foundation, which could lead to basement flooding, structural damage, and soil erosion.
2. **Protecting Siding:** Gutters prevent water from running down the sides of your home. This helps protect the siding, preventing potential water damage, rot, and mold growth.
3. **Preserving Landscaping:** Properly installed gutters direct water away from landscaping and flower beds. This prevents soil erosion and protects the plants and flowers around your home.
4. **Preventing Soil Erosion:** Gutters control the flow of rainwater, preventing soil erosion around your home. This is essential for maintaining the stability of the soil and preventing damage to landscaping.
5. **Avoiding Foundation Issues:** Excess water around the foundation can lead to foundation problems such as cracks and shifts. Gutters help maintain a consistent moisture level around the foundation, minimizing the risk of such issues.
6. **Protecting Fascia and Soffit:** Gutters help protect the fascia and soffit of your roof by preventing water damage. This is important for maintaining the integrity of your roof structure.
Overall, gutters are a key component of a home’s exterior drainage system, playing a vital role in protecting the structure, landscaping, and foundation from potential water damage.

Gutter Guard Options

When choosing a gutter guard we must consider what types of tree’s are close to your home. We will never recommend a product to you that wouldn’t perform for your situation. The truth is there are dozens upon dozens of screen guard options. We have simplified this into two categories that fit our local environment.

Did you know…
It is important that your existing gutters are up to par and working properly before adding leaf protection.
We want to insure that shingle grit and debris are removed and that the existing gutters drain properly before gutter guard installation.

1. If you Have Pine Straw

Pine straw has a hard time getting lodged into this gutter guard. You may have some needles that gets hung up but overall it does a pretty good job.

Plenty of room to allow water flow and saving you from digging out gunk from your gutters.

2. Little or No Pine Straw

No pines next to your home? We may recommend this option as it costs less than option 1.

Larger holes that are great for flow, great for larger tree leaves falling near your home.
